Sixmilebridge 1-20
Broadford 0-20

Venue - Broadford
Referee - Andy McMahon

Our intermediates lined out against Bodyke on Saturday last in the championship quarter final in Broadford in very wet and windy conditions, indeed a gale was blowing for most of the game.

Bodyke played with the wind in the first half and were leading by 3 points at 0-6 to 0-3 after 15 minutes. Sean lynch with a free and point from play and Alan Mulready contributing the other point.

After 26 minutes the Bodyke men led by 6 points at 0-11 to 0-5, taking full advantage of the strong wind. Luke O' Halloran and Sean Lynch keeping us in touch with another couple of points.

By half time, the Bridge men had reduced the deficit to just 3 points thanks to a goal from the boot of Alan Mulready and a further point from Sean Lynch, leavinbg the half time score Smb 1-7 v Bodyke 0-13.

The second half saw the 'Bridge gain the wind advantage and they certainly kicked on, but it wasnt until the 50th minute with a lovely point from Colm Flynn that they took the lead. Approaching full time the Bridge led by the minimum and Bodyke were pushing for an injury time winner, however the Bridge men held out in an exciting last few minutes to secure their place in the semi final, where they will play Tulla in a repeat of last years Intermediate semi final.

Colm Fitzgerald in goals played well on the day as did Aidan Quilligan and Oisin Breen in the backs. Colm Flynn and Luke o' Halloran worked hard and up front Sean Lynch and Alan Mulready always looked dangerous when ball came into their zone.
