Cover Pic:  Campa Samhraidh 2022

Tús maith leath na hoibre. Bhí sin fíor dár gCampa Samhraidh a thosaigh ar Luain faoi aimsir álainn le 102 páiste.
A good start is half the battle. That was true for our Campa Samhraidh that started on Monday under beautiful conditions with 102 children.
Thug aoi speisialta cuairt ar na buachaillí agus na cailíní a bhí ag traenáil amuigh faoin ghrian. Tháinig Uachtarán Chonradh na Gaeilge, Paula Melvin, go dtí Fingallians. Is as Iarthar Chontae Fhine Gall í Paula agus dúirt sin go raibh sí fíorbhródúil as an sár-obair atá á dhéanamh ag Fins ar son na Gaeilge. Mhol sí go hard na páistí agus na meantóirí agus an caighdeán Gaeilge agus spóirt a bhí ar taispeáint. Dúirt Paula “Tá súil agam go bhfeicfidh mé cuid de na páistí seo ag ardú corn i bPáirc an Chrócaigh ar son na Dubs agus ag tabhairt an óráid trí Ghaeilge”.
A special guest visited the boys and girls who were out training in excellent conditions. President of Conradh na Gaeilge (Gaelic League), Paula Melvin, came out to Fingallians. Paula, a West Fingal native, said she was proud of the work being done by Fins for the Irish language. She praised the children and mentors and also the standard of Irish and sport that were on display. Paula said “I hope I will see some of the children here someday lifting a cup in Croke Park for Dublin and delivering the acceptance speech in Irish”.

Tá C.L.G. Fhine Ghallainn fíorbhuíoch as ucht an chuairt agus guíonn muid gach rath ar obair an Chonradh agus ar Phaula agus í i ról an Uachtaráin.
Fingallians GAA are grateful for the visit and we wish every success on the work of Conradh na Gaeilge and on Paula while in the role of President.
Leanfaidh an campa ar feadh na seachtaine, mar sin ná dean dearmad ar d’uachtar gréine agus do bhuidéal uisce. Tá obair ar siúl ar an raon reatha. Mar sin beidh an geata íochtar dúnta. Tabhair aire breise.
The campa will continue all week so don’t forget your sun cream and your water bottle. Building works are underway on the running track so the lower gate is closed. Take additional care !!

Update on Works

Great start to the works this week which are now full steam ahead. This will be a huge help when completed in time for Winter training. In the meantime, as the works progress, we ask everyone to follow all the health & safety procedures, particularly all our children participating in the various camps. It will all be worth it!

U/8 Boys

The U8 boys travelled to Naomh Barróg on Saturday for a Mega Go Games Blitz.

Our boys enjoyed every minute as did all spectators as each game was end to end excitement. The boys entertained their parents and spectators with some fantastic kicking, tackling, strong defending and excellent teamwork

The coaches are delighted with the hard work, effort and determination from all our boys. Above all, they enjoyed themselves, showed great sportsmanship and great camaraderie to each other. Well done all!

Bhí sibh ar fheabhas inniu. Tréan-iarracht déanta ag gach buachaill. Tá muid an-bhródúil asaibh go léir. Maith sibh!

Thanks to everyone at Naomh Barróg for hosting a super day of football. 📷
