As part of our coaching the coaches series of training courses we are excited to reveal we will have Speed Coach Martin Bennett coming to our indoor arena on Saturday February 4th form 10am to 11:30am.
As we all know, the mechanics of running is essential for all kids and adults irrespective of what sport they play and while a lot believe you are either born with speed like Seadna Morey or not - this myth will be addressed as part of Martins workshop. His philosophy is that sprinting is not an inherited talent but a skill. Often 'naturally slow' athletes are just athletes who don't know how to run effectively. By breaking down their mechanics and developing proper habits, players can become more efficient and faster.
Martin has in recent years worked as a speech coach with the Waterford hurlers from 2020-2022.
