The Under 15 Championship got underway last week with both the A and Academy squads opening their campaigns.

19 Mar - A v Scarriff/Ogonnelloe

Difficult conditions greeted the A squad as they travelled to Ogonnelloe for their opening fixture.

Playing with a strong breeze in the first half, the Bridge boys took control of the early proceedings but struggled to make their dominance felt on the scoreboard. 3 points by Stephen Gavin in a ten minute spell seemed to settle the team, but 2 goals against the run of play from Scariff/Ogonnelloe saw the teams go in level at half-time 0-6 to 2 goals.

The hosts handled the conditions better in the second half and managed to maintain a 2 point lead for most of the period before eventually running out 2-8 to 0-9 point winners. Good performances for the 'Bridge from Dougie Brew, captain Cuan McGiollaCearra and Conor Peacock.

24 Mar - Academy v Kilmaley

Saturday afternoon saw the Academy squad make the trip to Kilmaley for their first outing of the season. The Academy squad this season are captained by Oisin O'Brien and vice-captained by Charlie Keane.

A strong first half saw the lads take control and go into the break with a 1-11 to 1-0 lead with the highlight being a brilliant Charlie Keane point after great linkup play by Liam Sweeney and Eoin Murphy. The second half was a closer affair but the lads worked hard to see out the win on a 3-15 to 3-04 scoreline. Other notable performances in this game included Tommy Healy, Dylan Tobin and some great free-taking from Cillian O'Connor and Conor Keogh.
