A great start to the year by the u17s in their league match against Ballyea, last Sunday. An early goal from Donal had the team in the lead from the start. Conor Keogh made a great save after 10 minutes, which game the team a great boost. Stephen made a great individual run for the second goal of the first half after 20 minutes. A solid performance on frees from Rory provided more scores on the board. The half time score was 2-04 to 0-06. Many of Ballyea’s scores coming from their free taker, Eoin Kennedy.
Ballyea started off the second half well with converted frees and two points from corner forward Eoin O’Connor
Donal responded with a 3rd goal late on in the second half after a good clearance from Killian Downes and Dylan Keogh. Zak and Peter G got 2 points from play each also in second half, giving the Bridge a strong lead! Finishing off the second half well was Cian McInerney who came on and got 2 late points.
The match finished SMB 3.15, Ballyea 0.14.
A great performance was seen in particular from John Deasy at full back and Neil Forde in midfield.
U17s next league match is away to Clonlara.
