A very quick start from blayney when they scored a point from play was quickly cancelled out when Inniskeen found the net after 3 minutes for an early lead, 10 minutes passed before the next scores was registered with a point from a free for Inniskeen, the next 15 minutes was dominated by Inniskeen as they hit 1-4 without reply before blayney found the net just before half time to leave the half time score Castleblayney 1-01 2-05 Inniskeen, Blayney started the second half brighter when they found the net but it was quickly cancelled out when Inniskeen replied with a goal on 5 minutes, midway through the second half Inniskeen now leading 3-7 to 2-2 and Blayney hit 1-2 to leave only 3 points in it with ten minutes to go.
