At the AGM in 2022, we gave the Club Committee approval to negotiate a deal with one of the companies who had approached us about erecting a communications tower on the grounds of the club between the Hurling Wall and the new All Weather pitch. At the AGM last November, members were informed that the negotiation was close to a conclusion with Cellnex. A draft agreement was eventually signed last month.

Planning permission is required to erect a communications tower, and earlier this week Cellnex submitted a planning application to Kildare Co. Council. Planning notices have been put up in the club. If the planning application is successful, the two masts currently on the roof of the club would most likely be relocated to the new tower.

The planning process is likely to take a number of months. We will keep you informed of any developments.
