Eligibility

1: Scor na bPaisti is for National School Pupils.

2: Clubs may only enter only one group in each competition.

3: Competitors who competed in Scór na nÓg may NOT compete in the same competition at Scór na bPáistí.

4: Group competitors MUST be members of the same club.

Riallacha (Regulations):

Rince Foirne: (Figure dancing)

Each group shall consist of not less that four and not more than eight dancers.

Dancers shall dance one body and one figure of the dance

There are NO marks awarded for dance on or dance off.

Amhránaiocht Aonair (Solo Singing)

Each competitor shall sing one song

The song must relate to Ireland, its history, places, people, folklore etc

A competitor may accompany themselves or be accompanied by one musician on stage. (No recorded music allowed)

Aithriseoireacht / Scéalaíocht ( Recitation/Storytelling)

The recitation/story must relate to Ireland, its history, places, people, folklore etc.

The piece must not exceed four minutes

The competitor may dress up if they wish

Ceol Uirlise (Instrumental Music)

The competition is for groups of 3 to 5 people

Each group will play 1 tune of Irish character

A battery operated keyboard, in piano mode is allowed.

Sean Nós Dancing

Dancers dance 1 dance. (Reel, jig, hornpipe)

Dance shall nor exceed 2 minutes

No tips (Fibreglass or nails) allowed on dancing shoes

Dancers must supply their own music (Live music limited to 1 musician)

Bailéad Ghrupa. (Ballad Group)

The competition is for groups of 3 to 5 people

Each group will sing 1 ballad

The ballad must relate to Ireland, its history, places, people, folklore etc.

The number in the group playing musical instruments is limited to 3.

Use of Musical instruments is optional.

Ceol Aonair (Solo music)

Each competitor shall play one tune of Irish Character (ie Reel, Jig, Hornpipe etc)

Nuachleas (Novelty Act)

Each group shall consist of not less than 3 and not more than 8 competitors.

Act shall not exceed 10 minutes

Only hand props allowed on stage

The act must relate to Ireland, its history, places, people, folklore etc.

Music, song and dance may be use to enhance the performance

Rince Seit (Set dancing)

A set comprising of 8 people or a half set comprising of 4 is allowed

Groups will dance 1 figure of any traditional set.

There are NO marks awarded for dance on /dance off

No tips (Fibreglass or nails) allowed on dancing shoes

Dancers must supply their own music (Live or taped)

Teams of 4.

All team questions.

30 questions total:

5 rounds of 6 questions
