St Flannans College in Ennis was a hive of activity this morning for the annual Primary Schools Hurling tournament organised by the TY Students under the watchful eye of Mr. Bugler.

St. Finnachtas NS Sixmilebridge entered 2 even teams and progressed to the knockout stages with both teams. One of the teams progressed to the final where they were successful over Ballyea NS in a cliff hanger of a final.

Following the game Clare Minor Harry Doherty presented the cup to Sixmilebridge NS Captain Sean Conlon to chants of jubilation.

Clonmoney NS progressed to the final of Division 2 with wins over Ballynacally, Newmarket, Crusheen and Stonehall and defeated Newmarket NS in the final to complete a successful day for lots of our Bridge Hurlers.

Kilmurry NS also took part and were narrowly defeated in the group stages of the competition but played some outstanding hurling.

Well done to all 3 schools returning in spades the massive effort being put in by teachers in all our feeder schools.

Thanks to Mr. Bugler and St. Flannans for giving all the boys the opportunity to take part and hurl on the hallowed turf of the Harty fields where some of the greatest Clare hurlers have played in their day.
