Ba mhaith le gach éinne sna Gearaltaigh comhbrón ó chroí a dhéanamh le Clann Uí Mhuircheartaigh tar éis bhás Mhichíl níos luaithe inniu.

Mícheál was known for his stellar career on TV and Radio where he captivated audiences whilst commentating on Gaelic Football & Hurling.

Mícheál had a close association with the Geraldines with his son Eamonn being both a club member and part of the Senior Mens management team.

He visited us on several occasions in recent years & he conveyed messages of support to many of our teams before important games.

We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the O’Muircheartaigh family, his friends, former colleagues and all members of the GAA that have been touched by his sincere warmth and kindness throughout the years.

The word legend is used in many ways but in Irish GAA folklore there will only be ever one Mícheál O’Muircheartaigh. When we heard him commentate it made us proud to be Irish.

He was a father to our nation.

Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann

Leaba i measc na naomh go raibh aige.
