Congratulations to our senior Camogie team who started their championship with a hard-fought win away to St Anne's. Supporters of the team will know that St Anne's knocked us out in the Semi-final stage last year - so this was a bit of a daunting trip to make.  However with a keen wind behind them, the ladies got stuck in and asserted dominance for most of the first half. St Anne's are a quality side and they rallied in the last 10 minutes, leaving the half time score 0-7 to 2-7.

The second half was tougher. Facing into a biting wind, there was a lot of last-ditch defending as St Anne's turned the screw. 2 points from Anne's brough the gap to 4 and Finians were struggling to get out of our half. But get out they did and scored a goal from a long range free. There's enough of those that have gone against the team, so Karma was smiling down on us in the wind and the rain. Despite a hard fought battle and continuous pressure from St Anne's, Finians managed to maintain the 7 point advantage swapping points right to the end, ultimately winning 0-11 to 3-9.

Onwards to Erin's Isle (at home!) on Sunday 22nd.
