The U15 LGFA A team welcomed our friends from Templeogue Synge Street to a sun-drenched River Valley Park on Saturday afternoon. Templeogue started their championship campaign with a huge win in their first game, scoring 9 goals, and we were all well aware of how strong and capable a team they are, containing a number of star players from the 2023 U14 Dublin squad . Even before the game the omens were looking good when our captain Addison Cahill won the toss and elected to play up the hill in the first half. For the majority of the game it was nip & tuck with our girls taking the lead and constantly being pegged back by Templeogue. At half time there were only 4 points between the teams and it was it was only in the last 15 minutes that we managed to start pulling away to safety. A great team performance all round from the 19 girls , with the play of the day going to our star goalkeeper Abigail O’Neill saving a well struck penalty in the final minute of the game. The game finished 3-19 to 2-12. Having won their first two games, the girls have secured a home semi-final with one group game to go. #Finiansabú
