As the dust settles on what can only be described as an epic night for Kilkerley Emmets GAA Club on Saturday night we wish to acknowledge and sincerely thank all of you who contributed to the success of this spectacular fundraiser.
Firstly hats off to our courageous contestants. Without you all there would quite simply be no fundraiser! All 49 of you stepped up to the plate when approached and brought your A game. Even more so, the amount of fundraising done in the lead up to Saturday night has been nothing short of incredible. Special thanks is due also to those contestants from other clubs who answered our call, your support will not be forgotten.
We wish to sincerely thank our business sponsors. Without your generosity the event would not have been a huge success. We are eternally grateful to our main sponsors Fastfix Direct and Dermot Hanratty Partnership. We cannot thank you enough! Similarly we would like to express our gratitude to the Game, Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors. Your support made all the difference. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and assure you of our business and support going forward.
We thank the Fairways hotel for accommodating us so well on the run up and on the night itself. Your helpfulness and professionalism were exceptional. The balloons in club colours supplied by Gerry Mc Fadden were a great reminder of what the night was all about. We are hugely grateful to Conlon’s Food Hall for keeping our contestants fed on the night.
We extend a big shout out to our MC for the night Pat O’Shaughnessy. Pat played a blinder on stage adding so much excitement and craic to the event with his brilliant performance on stage. Bualadh bos Pat! We also thank our club PRO Willie Quigley for doing the door as always not to mention the hundreds of supporters who turned out on the night.
Huge thanks also to our resident bookies on the night, Brian Brady and Noel Hand who were there to take bets for people who wanted to have a wee flutter on their favourites. Speaking of which we thank our auction patrons whose generosity raised valuable funds on the night.
Massive thanks to Dermot and Catherine Shevlin for donating a stay in their home in France as a holiday destination for our lucky raffle winner. Huge thanks also to the businesses who generously donated a wonderful selection of raffle prizes. Your generosity will always be appreciated.
Thanks also to our DJ Brian Oliver for supplying the best tunes and helping us dance the night away. It turns out that we have some wonderful dancers amongst us!
Huge thanks to the event organisers Clubspot! You've been brilliant to deal with through the last months and particularly on the night. We can’t thank you enough.
To our Fundraising team we are in awe of how brilliant you have been. From the brainstorming sessions to badgering people to compete as contestants and chasing up business sponsors, you have been amazing. The weekly meetings are over for now and the WhatsApp group chat won’t be hopping anymore, you can go back to your families and enjoy a well-earned break.
Finally, congratulations to our winner on the night, Bernard Finnegan. I’m sure everyone will agree that his cool and calm demeanour won out in epic fashion on Saturday night when he narrowly pipped Conor Quigley in the final challenge.
Kilkerley Emmets supporters, families and friends, from near and far, we sincerely thank you for your ongoing support of our fundraising drive. You have been amazing. It is incredible what has been achieved. It has been all consuming at times but look what we have achieved together.
If I have forgotten to mention anyone please forgive me and know that your contribution has nonetheless been valued.
The dream is now almost a reality and please God, in the not so distant future we will have a clubroom to be proud of and a giant celebration when we get there!
Hon the Emmets #KilkerleyAbú!
