Last night saw the final night of the very successful Clare U13 Development Squad Leagues in Caherlohan. This was a new format introduced in 2024 for selecting the Clare U14 Hurling Development Squad for 2025 with 8 divisional sides formed consisting of 8 teams across 22 groups. The Bridge boys were part of the South East Clare team which also included Cratloe, Wolfe Tones and Parteen/Meelick.
The team went through their 3 group games undefeated and following a good battle in the semi final last weekend qualified for the final against Estuary which consisted of Clarecastle and Ballyea.
After a very slow start we were down 2-02 to no score after 10 minutes but a few switches in the second half turned the tide and our boys who were kitted out in Orange jerseys won out on a score of 2-10 to 2-06.
A big thanks to Martin Conlon who looked after the team for the group stages and Alan Mulready who patrolled the sidelines for the knockout stages, Well done also to our 12 boys who trialed and gained a wonderful experience over the last 5 weeks. We wish them the best of luck as the selection process begins in the coming days to select the squad.
