Well done to our senior hurlers who defeated Thurles Sarsfields in the mid quarter final last weekend. Sars took the early initiative and held a 3 point lead at half time. They maintained a 2-3 point lead through the 2nd half until a goal from Luke Shanahan 19 minutes in levelled it up. The lead changed hands a number of more times and we were 2 points down approaching the end of normal time. However points from Sean Ryan and Padraig Greene tied the teams again and it was left to Gavin Ryan to nail a long range free with the last puck of the game to give us a 1 point victory 1-19 to 0-21. We now face JK Brackens in the semi final later today(Saturday) at 7pm in Holycross. This is a ticket only game with tickets costing €10 which can be bought at https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/mid-tipp-gaa/ Best of luck to the team.
The junior hurlers had their first run out in the championship last weekend as they faced JK Brackens. Some ring rust was on display as Brackens took an early 1-2 to 0-0 lead and extended that to 7 points by half time. The second half saw us start chipping away at the lead and it was down to 3 points with 5 minutes left. However Brackens finished stronger and scored the final 3 points to win 1-15 to 0-12. The next game is against Holycross/Ballycahill next Friday 8th at 7:30pm in Drombane. This is also a ticket only affair with tickets available to buy at https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/mid-tipp-gaa/
