End of October and in a County Final is always a good sign for a club and this Saturday all roads lead to Meelick where our U14 Hurlers play St. Josephs Doora Barefield in the County Final.
While the powers that be have changed age groups to odd ages for the main championships with the even ages happening at the end of the year there is something special about the U14 Championship. This was always seen as the first competitive action for our young boys and the 'Bridge as a club would always have been targeting this competition to see "where we are" after a few years of underage coaching. This year is no different with both our U14 teams putting in a massive effort once the U13 and U15 Championships completed.
Under the guidance of Joint Managers Barry Coffey and Tadgh Keogh and an experienced backroom team the 'Bridge started their season with a game against Sarsfields of Cork back in July and have been on the go since. The team have played 5 championship games to reach the final and the Stephen Gavin (Captain) and Jack McNamara (Vice Captain) lead team will be hoping to go one step further and lift silverware on Saturday. St Josephs Doora Barefield have been equally as impressive in their path to the final with a powerful display against Inagh-Kilnamona in the semi final where they ran out winners on a score of 3-08 to 1-12.
Best of luck to our Boys,
