The Sunday morning journey to Moylagh proved worthwhile for Longwood as they maintained their 100% start in the Premier Football Championship with a deserved victory against their doughty north Meath opponents.

Longwood raced into an early 1-3 to 0-0 lead in the opening ten minutes: the goal coming courtesy of Josh Meagher. This impressive start settled the men in black & white and they were able to keep the opposition at arm’s length for the duration.

Longwood’s team boasted a number of impressive performances with Gavin Griffith, Louis Butler and Ciaran Sheridan particularly prominent.

With maximum points from their opening three games, the boys can look forward to the remaining games albeit Carnaross and St Patrick’s are sure to present formidable challenges.

Longwood: Kevin Maguire, Cathal Campbell, Coyle O’Brien, Sam Dixon (0-1), Adam O’Brien, Gavin Griffith (1-1), Bob Maguire, Ciaran Sheridan (0-1), Liam Moroney, David Coloe, Louis Butler (2-1), Dave Flynn (0-3), Josh Meagher (1-4). Subs: Sean O’Shea, Sam King, Jacob Baldwin, Dean Keogh (0-1)

Longwood will be back on the field on Tuesday evening when the entertain St Peter’s Dunboyne in the ACFL Division 2B
