For the last two months 4th, 5th & 6th Class boys & girls took part in an inhouse Hurling Championship. Every pupil took part with every team named as a County. ‘Participation’ and ‘fun’ were the two key points that were focused on during the tounament. The hurling skills and effort came in abundance in each game as a given due to the work down by each player during the year. The following report and photos from players who took part in the League. Well done to everyone and the teachers for the effort.

At lunchtime this year we did a Hurling League. The teams in the league were Galway, Kilkenny, Waterford, Limerick and Tipperary. Everyone played each other and after all the games we totted up the scores. We
then put the scores up in the hall. Then we figured out who had made it to the final. The league table finished with Waterford who came 1st with 8 points, next was Tipperary who came 2nd with 7 points and then Galway came 3rd with 6 points. The top two teams played in the final. In the final game it was Waterford and Tipperary. The score in the finale was a 2-1 win for Waterford. After the game the captain lifted the trophy and became the first Hurling League champions!
