Leixlip United Football Club would like to acknowledge the Prime Time programme Girls in Green. This programme reported on a FAS / LFAI/ FAI run course for ladies football in the 1990's and reported on some highly sensitive events that took place during the running of the course.

The course was based in Leixlip and utilised site facilities at the time. The FAI coaches and staff involved in the course were not Leixlip United Football Club members or coaches and the club had no oversight or engagement on the running of the course.

Footage of our facilities were used throughout the programme to illustrate some events and the club gave permission for filming to take place. However we would like to clarify LUFC had no affiliation, involvement or oversight on the course.

We applaud those women who have brought their story forward. We note the matter is in the hands of the authorities now and that the legal process will now progress.
