U14.3 Girls Leixlip United 4 Greystones 0.
A very good performance, especially in the first half. The Girls went in at half time 2 up with goals from Ellie O Shea and Saoirse Costello. Both Girls got another one each in the second half. Unfortunately we've no game next weekend after such a good start to the season.
U14.3 Girls Leixlip United

U16 Premier Boys Raheny United 1 Leixlip Utd 0.
A very disappointing result for us but a deserved win for Raheny. We just never got going and we never reached our normal level. Back to the drawing board this week as we prepare for an away FAI Cup game.

U12P Girls Leixlip United 1 Swords 3.
First game of the season and we started the game well but found ourselves 2 nil down in the first 15 minutes, a penalty and a corner which our keeper was being blocked and the referee didn't see, there wasn't much between the 2 teams with Swords looking like they had a bit more experience playing 9 a side, 2nd half Swords scored their 3rd shot from a distance that went through the keepers hands. The last 15 minutes was dominated by Leixlip and we got a penalty which Khloe Keegan scored. It will be a tough season with a small squad thanks to the 2014 girls who played with us today they were brilliant.

Leixlip United 7 FC Eagles Atletico 7 18s AET LFA Youth Cup 1st round.
Lewis Kelly with 5 goals and a great performance, Finn Groen with the other 2. Marcelo making 2 saves in the peno shootout  and injured Cillian smashing home the 4th to win it. We were Down to the bare bones today with 12 lads and 1 injured lad on the bench who ended up having to play 40 mins. But delighted to get through a mad game where despite the goals conceded, we played well throughout. We have St Itas Prem next week at home in the FAI 17s Cup, we'll be charging in for whoever wants to watch as we seem to be able to guarantee entertainment.

U17 Major Girls Leixlip United 10 Verona 1.
Sophie Dalton got the first of her 5 after 6 minutes. A header on a great cross from Faye Kelly. Soon after, Verona got their goal, very much against the run of play. Faye and Sophie added to the Leixlip tally with two brilliant finishes. We went into the halftime 3-1 up. After halftime the flood gates opened, and for a while almost every attack created a goal. The remaining goals came from Sophie (3), Emma Murphy , Cara Moriarty, Grace Kelly, and Faye Kelly.

U14P Girls Leixlip United 5  Kilnamanagh 2.
Our first home game in the top division got off to a shaky start with 2 goals seeing us fall behind early on. The girls settled and took control of the game and at the break were 2 - 1 behind after Beibhinn Silke scored from a Cara Murphy corner. There was very little the girls did wrong and were encouraged to keep playing the way they were. We kept running at the Kilnamagh defence and 2 great goals each from Lucy Lanigan and Cara Murphy saw us put the game to bed and a deserved 5-2 win.

U14-7 Boys Ballyowen 4 Leixlip United 1.
Always a tough game against Ballyowen but scoreline didn't reflect the result today. We went 1-0 down against the run of play and reacted the right way getting an equaliser within 3 minutes with a screamer from Kealan Harpur. Overall we played well but didn't get the rub of the green today. Roll on next week.

U15M Boys Leixlip United 2 Greystones 2.
Unbeaten start to the season continues. We went in front probably against the run of play with a well worked move with Dan Bradley playing in Nathan Byrne down the right and a great finish in off the post. Greystones equalised a few minutes later with a floated free into the box which our keeper failed to deal with. Greystones could feel aggrieved with not getting 2 penos in the first half but both would have been harsh on us and we took a deserved lead with a great break down the left with Max Farnam crossing a deft ball across the box and finished by Michael Cavanagh after 2 attempts to go into the break 2 - 1 up. Straight after the break we should have gone further ahead but between hitting a great chance square against their keeper and offside we didn't capitalise, then the game got even scrappier as both teams happy to play it long, with 5 to go we conceded from a corner where a blatant foul was missed and they finished at back post. Last 5 pushed for all 3 points but couldn't find the winner.

U15.1 Boys Portmarnock 1 Leixlip United 1.
A scrappy game in windy conditions. Portmarnock took the lead after 20 minutes from a corner after we failed to clear our lines on numerous occasions which resulted in soft goal. We should have equalised 5 minutes later when we missed open goal after lovely move down the left. Portmarnock where on top going into half time. We started well 2nd half and equalised 10 minutes in. Calum Dodd played out from the back into James Hollywood Smith in midfield resulting in layoff by Luke Schuster to Zach Fitzpatrick who finished with 25 yard finish over their keeper into top corner. Battled under lots of pressure last 10 minutes. All in all draw fair result.

U13 Girls Premier Leixlip United 2 Templeogue 0.
Great result for the girls tonight. The girls first match on a Friday and first under the lights. Leixlip started really strong and nearly got a goal in the 1st minute. Leixlip went 1 up after 13mins and then 2 up after 14mins. Templeogue caught us a few times on the break but the girls were always able to get the ball back at the right time. Leixlip were always going to win the game from the off and were lucky not to get a few more after hitting the post twice. 2 wins out of 3 so far.
