GAA CLUB NOTES
On Saturday, Galway played Derry in Pearse Stadium for Round 1 of Group 1 in the All-Ireland Championship series. A great overall team performance from Galway, and the ability to make the extra man advantage count with the deserved dismissal of All-Star Gareth McKinless after 20 minutes, ensured a significant victory with the score finishing on Galway 2-14 Derry 0-15. Dylan McHugh and Liam Silke started the game for Galway, while Patrick Egan and Kieran Molloy were named on the bench.

On Thursday evening the Junior team host Ballinasloe in Corofin at 8:15pm for Round 6 of Division 4B. On Friday evening the Senior team host Tuam Stars in Corofin at 8:00pm for Round 6 of Division 1. On Saturday evening the Intermediate team host An Spidéal in Corofin at 8:15pm for Round 6 of Division 3A. Best of luck to players and management teams.

LGFA CLUB NOTES
Om Friday the Junior team played their Division 4 League game against Monivea-Abbey in Corofin. It was a great game for the spectator as Lorraine Ryder (x2) and Rachel burke displayed some clinical finishing in front of goal. A superb team performance with some great defending from the girls to keep a strong Monivea-Abbey at bay. The game finished Corofin 3-08 Monivea-Abbey 2-05.

On Sunday the Senior team played their final round of Division 1 as they hosted the reigning All-Ireland champions Kilkerrin-Clonberne in Corofin. Despite the return of County players, some lingering injuries meant a young team were given their opportunity and they performed admirably. Goals from Roisin Leonard and Ella Zwyczyk gave the team a much needed boost but the opposition were just too strong and the game finished Corofin 2-08 Kilkerrin Clonbern 3-20.
