CLUBHOUSE DEVELOPMENT
Works are progressing on the new Clubhouse Development at Corofin Pitch grounds. The steel has been erected, the concrete has been poured and the block work is flying up! This is an exciting development of facilities which will be of great benefit to not just the Club but to the broader community. GAA CLUB NOTES
A massive congratulations to the Galway Seniors on their hard-fought, courageous win over Dublin on Saturday in Croke Park to progress through to the All-Ireland Semi-Final where they will play Donegal. The game finished Galway 0-14 Monaghan 0-11. Dylan McHugh and Liam Silke started the game, while Kieran Molloy was named on the bench. Dylan McHugh scored a crucial point 5 minutes from the end to restore parity, capping off an excellent personal performance from Dylan.
The Semi-Final will be played against Donegal on Sunday, 14th July at 4:00pm in Croke Park. Tickets can be purchased from Raftery’s shop in Corofin Village or online here (Adult €55, Students/OAP’s €50 [Cusack & Davin], Juvenile €10 [Cusack & Davin], Terrace €40).
On Thursday the U-17’s host Moycullen at Corofin pitch at 7:45pm for Round 2 of the U-17’A’ Championship.
Also on Thursday the Junior ‘D’ team host Loughrea in Belclare pitch for the Shield Semi Final, throw-in is at 8:00pm.
The highlight of the weekend: on Friday the Senior team will be looking to make it 3-in-a-row of Division 1 League titles as they travel in to Tuam Stadium to play Tuam Stars for the Final, throw-in is at 7:30pm.
On Saturday the Junior ‘A’ team host Caltra in Corofin pitch for Round 3 of the Junior A North Championship, throw-in is at 5:00pm.
LGFA CLUB NOTES
Best of luck to our Club players with the Galway Senior panel this weekend as they play their All-Ireland Quarter-Final against Dublin in Parnell Park on Saturday at 7:30pm. The game will be shown live on TG4, tickets can be bought in advance at www.universe.com (Adult €20, Students/OAP’s €10, U-18’s €5, U-12’s Free).
UNDERAGE
The Nursery Group continues every Saturday from 10:30am until 11:15am. This is training for Boys and Girls born in 2018/2019.
