SENIOR LADIES
The Senior Ladies qualified for the last four of the Bons Secours Junior B Championship with a hard earned win over Kerins O Rahillys in Direen on Sunday afternoon. A goal from the throw in from Keri-Ann Hanrahan  was soon followed by points from Andrea Murphy and Eve Coffey  as it took O Rahillys seventeen minutes to get on the scoreboard.  When they did , they hit four in twelve minutes with an Orianne McGillycuddy goal sandwiched in between. In a carbon copy of the first half Ciara Randles struck for a goal early in the second but the Rahillys responded, kick starting their best period in the game. It took an Andrea Murphy goal at the three quarters stage to keep them at bay, with five points between the side, 4-4 to 1-8. Lauren Carey stretched the lead but again Rahillys whittled it down to a one score game, 4-5 to 2-8, heading down the stretch. A strong rearguard action kept the back door locked as two further points from Lauren minded the gap, as the final scoreline read 4-7 to 2-10.
The Ladies now face Annauscaul / Castlegregory in the semi final this Sunday down west.

U10 GIRLS
Our U10s entertained Kilcummin in Go Games in Direen on Saturday morning. There was three teams from both clubs and they provided some fine football , excellent scores, and great endeavour . Thanks to Kilcummin for visiting and to the referees and the Legion Academy coaches for getting pitches ready for play.

U12 GIRLS
Our U12  Green and White Teams made the short trip to neighbours Spa on Tuesday evening for a friendly match. Both games were played in a good competitive spirit with the odd friendly bumps exchanged. To top off the evening, the girls had a drop-in visit from Kerry All Ireland medal winners Lorraine Scanlon and Siofra O'Shea to offer some encouragement and advice and pose for some photos.  Thanks to Spa for hosting us, Sharon O Grady , for organising the game, our supporters, and all who helped out in the evening.

U13 GIRLS
In the U13 Kerry LGFA Club Championship, our U13 girls advanced to a semi final against Glenflesk after defeating Beale away in Asdee GAA grounds on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Thank you to Beale for a great sporting game and thank you to our ref and our supporters who travelled on the day. Details of the semi final game tbc.

U14 GIRLS
In a thrilling Division 1 Shield final played in  Fitzgerald Stadium on Thursday evening last , our U14s faced off against Laune Rangers. On a lovely evening for football, on a pristine pitch, both teams were up for what was expected to be a tough game and so it played out . The girls worked well and matched their opponents throughout the first half but found the scores hard to come by. Approaching the final minutes of the opening period , Laune Rangers raised two green flags and in the blink of an eye , the girls found themselves five point down at the  the break. A motivational team talk and some tactical changes at half time set the girls on the right path to secure some quick and early scores which served to change the momentum . It was anyone’s game heading into the last furlong but the girls dug deep and maintained their work rate and team play and in the end took the victory by three points . Well done to Laune Rangers for a very sporting game and thank you to the referee on the evening. Final score Legion 1-10 to Laune Rangers 2-4.
This completes the U14 ladies season which has been a huge success having also secured a County Division 3 title earlier in the year.

MOTHERS AND OTHERS
It was great to welcome Beaufort Gaelic for Mother's and Others team to Dirren on Wednesday night. A good game of football and a post match cuppa and chat in the Clubhouse afterwards. Thanks to the Beaufort ladies for travelling. A busy week saw them end up in Castleisland on Saturday to participate in a superbly run blitz by the local Desmonds side. G4M&O training continues every Wednesday night 8-9pm and new members are always welcome. On Saturday October 5th the group are hosting a blitz with upto eight teams competing. Promises to be a great day out. More details anon.

U11 BOYS
What has been a very busy year for our U11 boys is almost at an end as Rathmores visit to Direen this Thursday will be their final act. Kilcummin was their latest trek for two very competitive but enjoyable tussles on a cool crisp evening.

U13 BOYS

In a thrilling derby encounter between Dr. Crokes and Legion, the first half saw Dr. Crokes take the advantage into the dressing room , holding a narrow 0-6 to 0-4 lead. However, the second half belonged to Legion, who mounted an impressive comeback and surged ahead, ultimately winning 0:13 to 0:8.
Legion’s resilience and tactical adjustments in the second half were key to overturning the halftime deficit. Credit to Dr. Crokes for their strong first half and battling to the very end. A special thanks to the referee for keeping the game flowing smoothly. It was a hard-fought contest enjoyed by all. After the game the Division five Shield was presented to a jubliant panel. A big well done to both team and management.

U15 BOYS
The U15s travelled to Lewis Road on Sunday  morning for a local derby in the quarter final of the East Kerry championship. They started well and established a five point lead midway through the first half. Dr Crokes battled back well through the second part of the first half and at the interval the teams were level 2-3 to 1-6. Favoured by the wind in the second half the lads gradually pulled away and in the end ran out 7 point winners. Thanks to Dr Crokes for a good championship match. The boys now proceed to the semi final on Sept 29th
