U17 BOYS
Our minor team finished the long season off with a fine win in an entertaining final played under lights on a great surface in Direen.
Legion started well with Oisin Fleming proving a serious threat up front, linking up well with Finan Blackwell. This pairing was joined in the attack by the free back- Darragh Moynihan, who finished off a lovely move to raise what proved to be the decisive goal.
To be fair to Cordal, through their Kerry and St. Kierans midfielder, Killian Dennehy, worked their way back into contention, and at the break, Legion led by 1-9 to 8 points.
Cordal did capitalise on a number of turnovers but found the Legion defence led by Brian O Connor, Ronan O Brien , Cillian Murphy, and Fionn Sheahan in no mood to allow any threat to James Murphys goal.
Cordal clawed their way to within one point, but the impact of subs Mark Looney and Jake Coffey tilted the game back towards the home side . Some fine points from Oisin Fleming and Samuel Scroope sealed a great win. It was great to see a near full squad of players available after a tough season of injuries, and while only 18 players got a runout , the squad spirit was commendable.
Thanks to Cordal players and management on a great game played in a great spirit . Thanks also to Evan Horan for a good job with the whistle. Finally, thanks to the parents and supporters who gave the lads great support tonight as always!
Full time Killarney Legion 1-16 Cordal 0-15.

O DONOGHUE CUP
The competition is tipping away at a nice pace. Rathmore and Dr Crokes are through to the semi finals by virtue of their recent wins over Kenmare and Gneeveguilla respectively.  Spa face Kilcummin on Saturday evening next, November 9th in the quarter final. But of course our interest is on Saturday also when we entertain Glenflesk in Direen with a 3pm throw in. This will be the fourth time this year the sides have met, with very little between them. Your support is appreciated.
