Westport United is delighted to report that United Park will receive €378,500 under the Sports Capital Grants.
This money will allow the development of purpose built female changing rooms and female referees room.
A large multifunctional room will also form part of this phase of the project which will be available to all clubs and organisations in the county as in the case with our astro pitches.
A lot of work has happened behind the scenes to secure the grant and as with all the Sports Capital Grants that the club has received since the development of United Park commenced back in 2013, a huge word of thanks must go to outgoing Deputy Michael Ring TD, who in his capacity as our public representative, has never been found wanting , and as a club, we wish Deputy Ring well in his forthcoming retirement from public life.
