Best club management software for UK sports clubs in 2026 (full comparison)
There’s no shortage of club management software in the UK, and most of it claims to do everything. In practice, each platform is built around a different kind of club. Some are team apps that have grown into club tools, some are website builders, and some are built around membership and payments.
We’ve compared eight of the most popular options for UK sports clubs on pricing, payment fees, features and who each one suits best.
A quick note: we make ClubZap, so we’ve listed it first. We’ve tried to be fair about every platform, including where others do a better job than us, and all competitor pricing comes from their own published information, checked in September 2026.
What to look for in sports club management software in the UK
Before you compare platforms, it helps to know what matters most for a UK club. These are the areas worth checking first.
- Safeguarding for junior sections
If you have junior members, look for age verification, parent access to team groups and messaging the club can oversee, rather than coaches running their own WhatsApp groups. Check it fits your governing body’s safeguarding requirements too.
- UK GDPR and data security
You’re responsible for your members’ data. Ask where it’s stored, whether the provider holds recognised certifications such as ISO 27001, and whether you can export everything if you leave.
- The real cost over a season
Add up the subscription, any per-member charges, transaction fees, card processing and paid add-ons like a website. A free plan isn’t always the cheapest once fees are counted. Check the money is paid straight into your club’s bank account, too.
- Club draws and fundraising
If you run a club lottery or 50/50, check the platform supports the draw types you use. In Great Britain, small society lotteries usually need to be registered with your local authority or the Gambling Commission, and clubs in Northern Ireland have separate rules.
- Gift Aid and CASC status
Many UK clubs are registered as Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs), which can claim Gift Aid on donations, though not on membership fees. If that’s you, ask whether the platform can record Gift Aid declarations or export the data you need.
- Links with your governing body
Some platforms connect with governing body systems, like Pitchero with the ECB’s Play-Cricket or ClubSpark with the LTA. Check whether your sport has a preferred platform or data requirements before you switch.
- A proper app and support in volunteer hours
A real mobile app with push notifications is easier for members to keep up with than a website or email. And because most club admin happens in the evenings and at weekends, check when support is available and whether the provider will help set your club up.

Pricing: Priced on a quote based on club size. Online transaction fees from 3.75% + 10p, including VAT, with discounts for higher volumes and multi-year agreements. Training and setup are free.
What it does well:
- Memberships with family and multi-child discounts, instalments, recurring payments and automatic follow-up of failed payments.
- Club draws, 50/50 and Split-the-Pot, plus merchandise, camp fees and event ticketing.
- A member app with full club branding, push notifications by team, and club-controlled chat groups with age verification.
- Payments go straight to the club, with a financial audit trail for the treasurer.
- Done-for-you setup, and support in volunteer hours.
Worth knowing:
- No free plan, so pricing needs a conversation.
- No pitch or facility booking. ClubZap partners with SportsKey for clubs that need it.
- Its headline card fee is higher than some rivals, so compare the total cost for your club rather than the percentage alone.
2. Spond
Best for: Individual teams and clubs that want free scheduling, availability and payments.
Pricing: The Spond app and Spond Club are free and ad-free. Spond takes a fee on payments, published at 2.5% + 20p per transaction in the UK including card processing. A public club website is a paid add-on.
What it does well:
- Excellent scheduling, availability requests and team messaging.
- No subscription and no member cap.
- Spond Club adds a web dashboard for running several teams.
Worth knowing:
- The fee applies per product in a payment request, so bundled requests can carry the fixed fee more than once.
- Built team-first, so club-wide membership and fundraising are lighter than on club-first platforms.
- The club website costs extra.
3. SportMember
Best for: Clubs on a tight budget that want scheduling, facility booking and a webshop.
Pricing: Free Basic plan with ads. PRO starts at £22 a month, charged at £0.16 per member per month excluding VAT, so a 250-member club pays around £40 a month. Card payments cost £0.35 + 1%.

- Facility booking on PRO.
- A free webshop for kit and tickets on every plan.

What it does well:
- Strong committee tools: meetings, minutes, tasks and committee roles.

- Unlimited members and admins on every plan.
Worth knowing:

8. ClubSpark
Best for: Tennis clubs and other racket sports venues, especially LTA-registered venues.

A note for Teamer users
Teamer is closing on 5 October 2026, so a lot of UK clubs are choosing a new system right now. If that’s you, use the comparison above alongside our Teamer shutdown guide.
How to choose
The ‘best’ system is the one that fixes your club’s biggest problems. As a rough guide:
- If you just need to organise one or two teams, a free team app like Spond is hard to beat.
- If your website and league fixtures matter most, look at Pitchero.
- If you run courts, pitches or a clubhouse, look at myClubhouse or SportMember. For LTA-registered tennis venues, ClubSpark is the natural starting point.
- If your club depends on subs, a club draw and fundraising, and you want members on an app, ClubZap is built for you.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best club management software in the UK?
It depends on your club. Spond is the most popular free team app, Pitchero leads on club websites, myClubhouse suits facility-based clubs, ClubSpark suits LTA-registered tennis venues, and ClubZap is built for clubs that rely on membership and fundraising income.
Is there free club management software?
Yes. Spond, SportMember, TidyHQ, Pitchero (for single-team clubs) and ClubSpark (for LTA-registered venues) all have free options. Check the transaction fees, ads and paid add-ons, as they affect what you’ll really pay.
What’s the cheapest way to collect club subs online?
It depends on the size of your payments. Some platforms have a lower percentage fee, others a lower fixed fee. Work out the total over a season using your own membership prices.
Which club management software is best for junior sections?
Look for age verification, parent access to team groups and club-controlled messaging, plus recognised data security certifications. ClubZap and TeamFeePay both publish these, and it’s worth asking every provider directly.
