Our second Junior side kicked off their 2024 Championship with a hard fought draw with Kilmihil in a game played in windy conditions in Killimer on Sunday week last. Playing against the significant wind and slope on the pitch Miltown put up a great defensive performance in the first half restricting Kilmihil to three points while scoring three of their own from Noel McGuane, Gary Egan & Ronan Meade to ensure the sides went in level at the break.
The second half saw both sides up the scoring rate and with 12 minutes remaining Kilmihil held a 4 point lead as they played well into the wind, with Miltowns early second half points coming from Tommy Flynn &Ronan Meade & . Miltown refused to lie down however and they began to put the Kilmihil midfield and defence under long period of pressure, their efforts were rewarded as scores from Gary Egan (2) & substitute Benny O'Reilly (2) levelled things up as the final whistle blew.
