Miltown 0-5 Wolfe Tones 1-8
Our Junior B side suffered defeat to a youthful Wolfe Tones side in round 2 of the 2024 Junior B Premier Championship in Clarecastle on Sunday. With a stiff breeze blowing across the pitch scores were at a premium throughout the game. Gary Egan from a free and a point from play from John Forson contributed Miltowns scores in the first half while our resolute defensive performance frustrated the Wolfe Tones side who were restricted to 4 points and a goal late in the half.
The second half saw Wolfe Tones up the tempo but once again the character and hardwork of the Miltown side kept the game in the melting pot throughout an entertaining second half. A fine long range point from John Forson ,a Gary Egan free and a smart finish from an acute angle from substitute Kevin McMahon kept Miltown in touch until a few Wolfe Tones points at the death ensured victory for the Shannon lads. Miltown will take on Eire Og in a winner takes it all in the final game in 2 weeks time.
